LinkableText offers you two different ways to purchase ads. You can either place a per-click bid on groups of related sites or you can Lock up a guaranteed position for thirty days at a time for a fixed price. - How can LinkableText help my search engine rankings?
LinkableText provides advertising to help you reach new customers. However, LinkableText ads are also visible to search engines, which can increase your overall link popularity. Most advertising cannot be seen by search engines, but LinkableText ads are visible. - How much does it cost to advertise with LinkableText?
LinkableText advertising can be purchased either on a cost per click basis or on a flat rate basis. Both pricing structures are set based on supply and demand. Cost per click pricing is set by a real time auction and flat rate pricing is set by the amount of demand for a given ad placement.
Advertiser Account Manager:- What are the billing preferences options?
Your account has three different billing options in the billing preferences section: 1) Monthly Your account will be charged on the 30 day anniversary of your account start date. The default amount for your account will be charged only if your total balance is less than half of the default amount. 2) Automatically: Your account will be charged the default amount as soon as your balance depletes. 3) Pay As You Go Your account will be charged only when you log in and manually add funds. Your account will be deactivated if it runs out of funds. - Is my billing information secure?
LinkableText stores your billing information in an encrypted database. Furthermore, your credit card information is never displayed on screen to prevent theft. For more information on privacy and security, see our privacy policy.
Advertiser Ad Manager:- How many ads can I create?
There is no limit to the number of ads you can create in the LinkableText system. - What does the ad status mean?
Ad status is the approval status for your ads. Each ad is reviewed by our editors for appropriateness according to our ad guidelines. Once an ad is approved it is activated. Any edits to your ad will require it to be submitted to the approval system for review. - My ad was not approved. What can I do?
If your ad was not approved, you will need to review the ad for spelling or grammar mistakes or violations of our ad policy. You can resubmit your ad at any time. - Where will my ads appear?
Your ads will appear on any site that displays your chosen categories. You can add your ad to categories from the category manager and all publishers in that category will begin showing your ad on a space available basis. - Why can't I delete my ads?
You will not be able to delete ads if either the ad is the only ad in a category you have selected or if the ad is the only one in your account. You can remove an ad from categories where it is the sole ad, add additional ads to those categories, or set all category bids to $0 to remove your ads.
Advertiser Adding Funds:- How do I add funds to my account?
To add funds to your account, simply input the amount you wish to add and the CCV number from your credit card for verification. - What should I do if my credit card declines?
You can try a different credit card or try your transaction at a later time. Unfortunately we are unable to determine why a card might decline.
Advertiser Category Manager:- Can I have multiple Locks per category?
You can purchase as many locks as are available for a given category. However, you may not purchase multiple locks on the same publisher within the same category. - Can I have CPC ads and Locks in the same category?
Yes. However, your CPC ads will not appear on publishers where you have purchased a lock since you have already 'locked' your position on that publisher. - How do I bid on a category?
To bid on a category, simply add one of your ads to that category. Your bid will automatically be placed at the minimum for that category, so you will need to adjust it to appear on the page. - How much do I need to bid to appear?
Your bid should be adjusted to the point that you appear within the top three positions, as this will insure that your ad will be shown as much as possible. - What are Locks?
Locks are flat-rate 30 day links that can be purchased on a per-category, per-publisher basis. - How do I Lock a category?
Locks are purchased on a per-publisher, per-category basis. To purchase a lock, simply view a category page within your account and you will be presented with a list of publishers who display that category, and the price of a 30 day lock, if available. If a lock is not available, you can either join the waitlist for the publisher, or place a CPC bid to appear in the category. - How do I know what categories my ads are in?
A complete list of categories appears on the left of the advertiser category manager screen. Categories in which you have ads rotating display a bolded number in parentheses after the category name. The number after main categories refers to the number of sub-categories you are subscribed to and the number after sub-categories refers to the number of ads you have in that category. - Why can't I remove my ads from a category?
If you have locks in a category you will not be able to remove all ads from that category. To remove your ads, set your locks to expire and set your bid to $0. Your ads will not appear after all locks have expired. - What is the "Move All to Top" button?
The "Move All to Top" button will place your bid in each category to $0.01 above the highest bid, placing your ad at the top of the results across our network. - Why can't I delete a Lock?
You cannot delete a lock from the system, but you can cancel at any time. Locks renew automatically at your fixed price each month. If you cancel your lock, it will expire and be removed on the date noted. Once a lock is deleted you cannot renew it at your price. You can renew the lock any time before it expires. - How do I cancel a Lock I have purchased?
To cancel a lock you have purchased, simply view the category page where you purchased the Lock and click the cancel button next to it. You can renew your lock at any time before the expiration date. - How are locks renewed?
When you purchase a lock it automatically renews monthly. To renew the lock, your account is debited the price of the lock. If your balance does not cover the lock price, your credit card will be charged. If the credit card payment is unsuccessful we will wait three days and try again before deleting the lock from our system.
Advertiser Reports:- What data does LinkableText track in reports?
LinkableText tracks clicks from ads that are placed on a cost per click basis. - How do I view the activity for my Locks?
Lock activity is visible in your billing reports. Any charges incurred in relation to locks are recorded in your billing information.
Publisher - General FAQ:- How does the LinkableText publisher program work?
Publishers and owners of websites can apply to be part of the LinkableText publisher program. Publishers choose various categories that fit their site(s) and then place LinkableText ads on relevant pages of their sites. Not all publishers are a good fit, and LinkableText reviews each applicant site for relevance and quality. - How much can I make as a publisher?
LinkableText places ads that are paid on a cost per click and on a flat rate basis. Publishers receive the majority share of both types of ad. Flat rate ads are sold on a per-publisher, per-category basis and 70% of the revenue is shared with the publisher. Cost per click ads are placed on a category basis across multiple publishers and 60% of the revenue is paid out to publishers. - When will I get paid?
Publishers are paid when their balance exceeds the check amount selected in their account on the first of any given month. At this time, the entire balance will be cashed out and sent via check to the address on record. - What technical requirements does the LinkableText system have?
In order to implement the LinkableText system, your website needs to support a popular server-side language such as ASP, PHP, or a CGI language such as Perl. Only very basic scripting knowledge is required.
Publisher Account Manager:- What is a cobranded image?
Your co-branded image is an image or logo that will appear at the top of your co-branded sign up page. When a potential advertiser visits your customized sign up page they will see your logo and be presented with a list of options that includes only the categories your site displays. - What is the "Display Buy Backlinks" option?
This option allows you to toggle whether or not you want your ad units to display a link to your sign up page. You can choose to co-brand your sign up page or simply use a customized version provided by LinkableText.
Publisher Advertiser Manager:- How do I block advertisers from appearing on my site?
To block an advertiser, simply add the domain name to your block list. To block a domain, enter the domain without "http://" or "www.". You may enter subdomains such as "my.domain.com" if you wish. - How does the advertiser lock approval process work?
When an advertiser places a lock on a category within your site, their ad goes live immediately by default. You will be notified by email and can "veto" the lock. Any funds placed in your publisher account will be refunded to the advertiser. You have five days to approve the ad, after which time it is assumed you have approved.
Publisher Category Manager:- How do I add a category to my account?
To add a category simply select the category you wish, and then enter a URL where the category will be displayed. The URL should be the index URL of the section of your site where the ads will be displayed. Once the URL is approved for that category by our editors, ads will begin to appear in your ad units. - What is inclusion code and how do I use it?
LinkableText utilizes server-side includes to serve ads. Inclusion code is the code that is necessary to display LinkableText ads on your site. This code is designed to be used when your pages are generated, not in the HTML of your pages. Some scripting knowledge may be required, depending on the software running on your server. - What if my site is an HTML-only site?
Some HTML-only sites can still include the LinkableText server-side inclusion code. Some configuration changes and CGI ability may be required. Check with your web host to insure that your site includes such support. If you need additional help, contact us. - How is the Lock price set for a given category?
Lock prices are set based on available data about your site and are adjusted in real time based on demand. You can also change the price of your Locks from the category manager in your account if you wish. - Why can't I set the number of links for some ad units?
Many of the predefined LinkableText ad units are sized to fit a certain number of links. Therefore if you choose one of these ad units the number of links will automatically be set to the number that will fit. The ad units for which you can specify the number of links are List Style, Custom CSS, and Headline-only. - How can I customize the ads that appear on my site?
LinkableText provides you with the ability to customize your ad units. In addition to built-in color schemes and predefined ad units, you can also choose to completely customize your design using your own internal stylesheets. The choice is yours.
Publisher Funds Transfer:- Can I reuse revenues from my website?
Yes. You can transfer funds from your publisher account to a linked advertiser account for use in advertising your own website. - Can I transfer funds into my publisher account?
No. Transfers can only be made from your publisher account to your advertiser account, not in reverse. The only way to get additional money in your publisher account is to earn it through advertising.
Publisher House Ads:- What are House Ads?
House ads are ads that a publisher can create to be shown when there are no CPC or Locked ads available to be shown. House ads can contain any text and links a publisher wishes. If there are no house ads available, public service ads will be shown. - Where are house ads shown?
Your House Ads are shown when there are not enough CPC advertisers and not enough flat-rate advertisers to fill your ad units. House Ads give you the flexibility to choose what will be shown in the absence of paid ads.
Publisher Reports:- What are billing reports?
Billing reports include any changes in your account balance. This includes Lock sales, daily click revenue, and check payments among other transactions. - What are traffic reports?
Traffic reports break down the total number of clicks attributed to your website by day or by category. |
